CM Kiran Kumar Reddy to include 3 Telangana MLAs into Cabinet

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is planning to fill some of the cabinet vacancies by inducting three Telangana MLAs. Recently, Kiran has given an opportunity to two PRP members to join his cabinet.

Four MLAs Konda Surekha, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Jupalli Krishna Rao from Telangana region have resigned for their ministries to support separate Telangana state. Initially, Kiran decided to change some portfolios in his cabinet but he did not get support from his high command. So, he just included C.Ramachandraiah and G.Srinivasrao from PRP by sacking P.Sankar Rao.

Next day, some of Telangana leaders opposed Kiran’s decision over terminating Sankar Rao. To answer those comments, Kiran decided to give opportunity to three MLAs from Telangana region. Kiran plans to fill these vacancies before assembly budget sessions, which will commence in mid-February. Kiran has been waiting for the appointment with AICC general secretary Ghulam Nabi Azad and party president Sonia Gandhi to discuss about cabinet expansion.

Congress party has over 50 MLAs from this region and there are only 11 senior members including Ch Mutyam Reddy, T Jayaprakash Reddy and P Kista Reddy ( Medak district), Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, R Damodar Reddy and N Uttam Kumar Reddy ( Nalgonda), Mallu Bhatti Vikramarkha (Khammam), Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy (Warangal), and Marri Sashidhar Reddy, T Manemma, and P Vishnuvardhan Reddy ( Hyderabad). Out of these, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarkha and Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and Marri Sashidhar Reddy have been lobbying in central.

The Telangana agitation has been going on since several years and the agitation has reached the peak stage twice after the YSR death. The first it was raised soon after former CM Rosaiah crowned as Chief Minister and central government made a confused statement by Home Minister Chidambaram and after some time, he again made another confused statement.
